Domaine des Etangs, Auberge Resorts Collection

I cannot recommend this place enough!
Such a gorgeous place in the midst of stunning french village town.
I was here for a wedding and the hotel staff were superb!
The cottages and facilities were 10/10 and warm for what was grim and cold outside!
The staff were so friendly and helpful I cannot thank them enough for all the running around they must have been doing during the course of the wedding events.
The food I'm not sure was catered by the hotel but the breakfasts which I know were, were so fresh and lush!
Highly highly highly recommend. Cannot say enough good things about this place without spoilers so please do visit if you can.

This castle is so beautiful and fun and restful! What a sweet feeling here! The cozy family friendly out in the middle of no where feeling is wonderful! So rejuvenating you should spend a week here! The games in the attic to the perfect swimming pools to the art tour with Clara and the treasure of the tour with Jean François who grew up in the area remembers the castle as a boy and grew into the man who knows every bird and flower and tree and cow and mushroom and blade of grass. Lovely. We cannot wait to come back!

It has been almost a year since we stayed here but I recently thought about how wonderful it was and thought I’d post a review. We came with 2 little kids and they absolutely loved it! The property is amazing, the rooms are great and the service was wonderful. The food was very good too. We left wanting to come back. We will definitely visit again soon!

We have now completed our stay and I just wanted to say that while overall there were many positive parts about our stay there was one area that my husband and I were very disappointed in.

On our last night since our other room (Centaur) was already booked, we decided to treat ourselves and get another room, which was more expensive, but when we went to the room the bottom floor was really dark and we thought in the daytime it was beacuse we couldnt figure out the lights. But when it came to evening time it was very clear that the lights didnt work. We called the conciege, who sent someone, who eventually sent in a bunch of other people ot look at it and then then finally the other concierge came and it was clear that the lights were broken. While they brought candles and a lamp, it was clearly not close enough to being bright and by then it was quite late into the evening. We had wanted to spend some time chilling in the living room area and it was just impossible in the morning and in the evening. Even in the daytime it was so dark that we needed to use our phone flashlights. After this incident, the concierge had said that the manager would speak to us the next day but that never happened. We had thought that at least our room rate would have been discounted, or something would have been discounted as a gesture since basically the whole bottom floor wasnt usable and that is like 50% of the room. This was not the case, and we paid full rate on everything. I think in this case, a simple apology is not really enough because our room was over 1k euros that night alone and we would expect much more from something that commands such a high price point.

What’s worse is that i sent the dde team a direct email telling them my displeasure and they completely ignored it. I followed up with them once as well. Totally unacceptable tbh.

Absolutely magical stay. The property is stunning, beautifully maintained grounds that feel like something out of a fairy tale. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful throughout our visit. We stayed as a large group of friends and everything was spot on. Highly recommend exploring the grounds by bike, or riding out to nearby villages with the hotel’s bicycles. It is a great way to take in the surroundings. Every detail was taken care of. Would definitely return.
