I had a 6 night stay at the Waldorf-Astoria Trianon Palace in September. The hotel's location could not be better. Very easy access to the Parc, as well as the beautiful town of Versailles. The concierge was great for advice, and booking special tours of the Palace and other excursions. Although the rather expensive (EUR300 per person) 'secret passages' tour of the Palace the concierge booked for our small group was simply a guided tour of the state rooms of the palace we all had seen before... not any 'secrets' included whatsoever. The breakfast was very good, with quick service even when busy on the weekend, with a wide variety of choice of items, coffees, tea, etc. Some downsides were that the hotel bar was not busy one weeknight, and we were given last call quite early as they decided to close despite the posted ours being open until midnight, and there was nowhere else cozy in the hotel to really sit other than the hallway and relax otherwise late into the evening with a nightcap... absolutely not expected from a five star hotel. Also, the air conditioning was turned off in the evening overnight in the rooms... it was rather warm that week and it was very, very difficult to sleep in the heat! Not something I was expecting for a 'luxury' hotel. The beds were comfortable, but the rooms were dated. I had to crawl around to find a single outlet, and thankfully brought a power strip to plug in a laptop plus a charger. The rooms were comfortable, but more afterthoughts in successive renovations without the usual modern conveniences like USB plugs by the bed, handy lighting switches, and other things that lesser hotels now have commonplace. I'm not sure i'd stay here again, whether its via points or the company paying. They got the scenery and location right, but the little conveniences experienced travelers have come to rely on were not there.
